Jay Dee Clayton is the Executive Vice President – Operations for Wynn Macau. He is responsible for assisting the President in providing the leadership & operational direction for the development and operation of Wynn Macau with a particular focus on gaming operations.
Experience Prior to joining Wynn Macau, Jay Dee was the Executive Vice President – Operations for MGM Grand Detroit Casino. In this position, he was responsible for approximately 1700 employees in five departments including Slot Operations, Table Games Operations, Food and Beverage/ Property Operations, Security, and Surveillance. Jay Dee joined the gaming industry in 1975 with the Harrah’s organization having functioned in a variety of frontline casino gaming and cashiering positions. Thereafter, he spent 8 years in Atlantic City with the Caesars organization in various frontline managerial positions. In 1989, Jay Dee returned to Las Vegas to acquire a Master’s Degree in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. In November of 1993, Jay Dee joined the MGM Grand organization where he has steadily advanced within its management ranks. In February 1998, he was promoted to the position of General Manager for MGM Grand Darwin in Australia where he and his team were able to successfully reposition the company and dramatically improve the profitability. He was also the chief liaison between the company and Australia’s Northern Territory Racing and Gaming Authority. Jay Dee returned to the United States in January 2000 to assume his leadership responsibility at MGM Grand Detroit Casino. In this role, he served as a member of the Executive Committee and played an integral role in the strategic planning and leading day-to-day operations of the business. Over his impressive career, Jay Dee has achieved a wealth of experience in a wide range of assignments including Training & Development, Marketing & Promotions, Player Development, Project Management and Operations. This experience was gained at equally impressive gaming companies including Del Webb, Harrah’s, Caesars, Mirage Resorts and MGM Mirage. |
